Sew Much Progress!

It must be the extra (Holiday) time off from the job...

Or, it could be the extra bits of daylight being added onto the end of the day...

Maybe it's the promise of having a cheerful quilt to share with a fuzzy buddy while napping?

Whatever the reason...I'm very happy with the fact that 168 five inch blocks became 42 nine and one half inch blocks....

Which then became seven rows of six blocks...

Which then acquired a one inch border followed by a four inch border...

Which is now a finish 62-ish by 75-ish quilt top?

Ooooh yah! Looks like we're going to be sandwiching and quilting NEXT weekend! :-)

In the meantime....since not sew much progress has been made on my Halloween Victorian House cross stitch...I'm going to try my best to add a few threads on it each night during this week.

It has been fun to read everyone's blog posts about their dreams and aspirations for the New Year. My plans for 2020 are to eat when I'm hungry, sleep when I'm tired...and create when I'm inspired! :-)

  1. Aww, your little kitten is so cute helping you sew. I had to have my 17.5 yo kitten put to sleep 2 weeks ago and I miss him terribly. Don't think I'll have another as losing them is so difficult. Your progress is looking good and I LOVE the haunted cross-stitch house. I'm doing a little every night on a Christmas piece and it will get finished!!

  7. Blue and yellow together make such a fresh, happy quilt. You had such a good helper with the assembly process. :)
I hope you are able to succeed with your daily goal on your cross-stitch. I am not very good about maintaining slow and steady progress.

  8. I am surprised at how many people have gone back to adding counted cross stitch to their stitching. It is so tempting but I have umpteen quilt projects already planned and many with fabric and other supplies already purchased.

  10. Hi Sharon! Dropping in to say thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog last month. I'm finally finding the time to return the visit :) Love this beautiful quilt--blue and white and blue and yellow are my favorite color combinations. And your sweet kitty--I so miss having one around my house. Nice start on Halloween House, too. I stitched this one back in 2007 and it is still one of my favorites. Happy 2020 to you!
