September

So there we were... this past Wednesday night... sitting at a picnic bench enjoying a California cheeseburger, curly fries and root beer at our favorite Car Cruise... when the announcement blared over the loudspeaker...

"Welcome to our LAST car show of the season"...

Ummmm.... what?!?!?!

I almost cried right there on the spot! Yes, I was full aware that this weekend was Labor Day weekend (3 days off!)... but, it was just that moment that I had realized that this glorious Summer was coming to an end... it was fun! In fact, the best Summer we've had in a loooooong time... but, it just went by so quick.

Alas, I will enjoy the September days that are now upon us... even as the last rose of Summer is just beginning to bloom...

Apologies for the blurry pic, but we have already begun to feel the effects (winds) of "Hermine". I think that by the time it reaches us, it will be a tropical storm... but, the winds are going to be the main element for this area.

So for now... off we go... in our 1967 Buick Sport Wagon... to enjoy another one of those "last of the season" car shows... all along Main Street in a local historic town...

Until next time... enjoy each day for the gift that it is!

  1. I always welcome September, but a always sad to see summer's end. One of the flea markets announced that this past Sunday was their last show of the year...I felt the same way...almost fainted...WHAT??? Pretty soon, snow will be falling and the cold temps will be here....UgH! Have a great week, Sharon!

  2. What a beautiful rose--I love them in shades of peach and orange.
I am glad you have had such a good summer. Ours has been way too hot for my taste, but there have been good times in spite of the heat.

  4. We saw a lot of antique cars today, not sure if there was a show or they just wanted to go for a summer drive. I hope the storm doesn't ruin your weekend.
