Happy Easter and Some More Goodies!

It's been quite a bit of time since the last posting here... lots of stuff has been going on... where do I start? How about with a

HAPPY EASTER!
a day to rejoice... a season of rebirth...
Spring is upon us... we are all blessed with fresh, new beginnings...

Now... how about some projects? The first banner of the Sew Cherished Wool Banner of the Month was this little bunny banner. I was supposed to have completed it in time to enjoy for the entire Easter season... but, I just started it yesterday and finished it today... lol... hopefully the second banner will get completed a bit quicker... ;-)

Next is the completed hooking of the Antique Coverlet rug! I finished it Friday night. Since then I have added the stay stitching around the edges... but ran out of time to steam it... maybe tomorrow... it seems no matter how many days off I have, I always need "just one more". I've requested that my headstone be engraved with words "I'm not done yet"... lol ;-)

I was also the lucky winner of a Carolina Stitcher giveaway! Faye does some beautiful stitching... and she stitched up an accessory pouch as part of the giveaway.... beautiful craftsmanship and the perfect fabric choice! Love the little charm on the zipper too! Faye also added some cross stitch needles, some gorgeous linen, a couple of hanks of Victorian Sampler threads and a notepad.... thanks once again Faye! I do have a pattern picked out to try out this linen with!

Some Easter gifts arrived in my mailbox last week too! They are from Pam (who hooked the blue coverlet rug pictured in the previous post)... She sent me a very pretty insulated lunch tote (with my initial), some woolen carrots, a With Thy Needle and Thread punchneedle pattern and a cute chick notepad! Love it all Pam! I can't thank you enough!

Did I mention this little sheep yet? Betty of Primitive Betty's sent this to me "just because" a month or so ago... but I haven't been able to get a good picture of it yet... it's a punchneedle piece and his legs are sticks... love the little bell around his neck too! I have him displayed in my hallway... he makes me smile each time I walk past him! Thank you Betty!

Well... I think that about wraps things up here for now... I have so many projects planned for April... hopefully I will accomplish at least half of them...

"I'm not done yet"... lol! ;-)

Until next time... stay healthy and keep on smiling!

Goodies Galore!

Having a fun time getting out of the house more and enjoying the opportunity to visit with friends and see quilts and WOOL! Yesterday I ventured out to Lancaster, PA for the Woolright's Hook-In! I waited too long to decide to go, so I missed out on reserving a seat to actually sit and hook... soooo, poor ol' me was forced to shop the vendors! I found some loverly woolens at Rebecca Erb's booth.... and then some cute patterns at Handmaiden's Designs... and then found more wool, a redware mug and a pattern by Annetique's at the Grant Street Woolwork's both! I found a happy Joanne and Kathy at the Grant Street Woolwork's booth too! Yes... I brought along my camera... but was having too much fun to remember to take pics! So, You'll have to settle for this one pic of my goodies that I brought home... Wool, patterns, mug...

You'll also see an antique glass mason jar fill with Cadbury mini eggs and some  mini Easter ornaments for my wool feather tree... those are from Joanne! She mailed them to me last week... along with some Peeps (not in pic, because I ate them already)! It sure is nice to get a surprise in the mail... thank you so much, Joanne!

I also have some progress on the Antique Coverlet pattern I'm hooking... I hope to get more hooked today...

I'm hooking this rug a long with Pam (no blog)... she lives in DE, so we are kind of having a long distance hook-in... Pam's much quicker than I am... she's finished already... and even started another... lol!

So, that about sums it up for now! I'm looking forward to Spring... and being able to hook and stitch outdoors in the sunshine! Of course... I'm also looking forward to more road trips... radio shows, flea markets, classic car cruises... golf... barbeques... vacations... and sunshine! :-)

We've all been gifted just one life... LIVE IT HAPPY!

Shhh... Don't Tell My Husband...

... but I had a SUPERBLY WONDERFUL FUN TIME at Quiltfest today!!!!

I found Some wool...

And then I found some patterns... you see the Sew Cherished pattern? Well.. she has an AWESOME Wool Banner of the Month program... I seen these pieces in person today and they are gorgeous! If you want to sign up for them, click here. I did! ;-)

More patterns...

and then some notions... believe it or not, the fabric in the center of this pic is the only fabric I bought... it's 2 yd cut!

Naturally... There were some amazing quilts on display! I'll stop talking and let you look at them (click to enlarge)... as you get closer to the last few pics, they are blurry... reason being I was so hungry I nearly passed out!!! lol!

I'd love to stitch this one up...
This one has Polish Heritage to it...
Pennies from Heaven Wool quilt...

Can't go wrong with tan and blue...

 Teeny, tiny triangles...
Each square was about an inch? Great way to use up every last scrap of fabric though!
Hand quilted... not sure of this was hand pieced though...
 Antique doily...
 Quilted and beaded...
A classic... the fabrics in this are fabulous!
This is a wool quilt... it was actually from an issue of Fons & Porter magazine...
Loved the antique look of this quilt...

The colors in this one were muted vintage... so beautiful...

Signs posted all over saying that pictures were NOT to be taken of samples (in booths) until AFTER you purchased the pattern... so, these are the samples for a couple of the patterns I showed earlier...

All in all a super fun day! I was there about 4 hours even though I only planned on being there for 2 hours! Now... it is time to get a good nights sleep... and get back to hooking tomorrow! :-)

Until next time... stay healthy & keep on smiling!
